Day 1Benvenuti in Puglia! Welcome in Southern Italy

Meeting in Bari train station and transfer to Leonardo Trulli resort
After everyone arrives at the villa, we will have a briefing and custom fit you to your bikes. Depending on time arrival we will have the time for a short test ride.
First cooking class with local Chef who will share secrets of local dishes as you help her chop fresh tomatoes and choose the perfect olives. After the class, we will all enjoy a delicious dinner together paired with some of our favorite local wine.
The first cooking lesson at Leonardo trulli followed by dinner

Day 2 Loop to Alberobello

Distance 55 km/34 miles

We start our cycling week with the nice ride to highlight of Alberobello.
After breakfast at the resort, start the bike ride inland: you will cycle through the peaceful countryside ride past olive groves and rock-strewn fields to the stunning Alberobello with its flood of unique trulli: whitewashed houses with conical stone roofs, the most famous architectural symbol for which the region is known, a guide will introduce in the trullo world. Once you have explored enough ride back to trulli resort – only 14 km or transfer by van –

Day 3Loop to Martina Franca

Distance 69 km /43 miles

Highlight today is Martina Franca and olive oil tasting at Frant’Olio.
We start form the resort and all on small secondary road – passing the village of Noci, we will get in Martina Franca – a must-see town for its marvelously intact historic center, beautiful Baroque architecture, and stunning palazzo- First stop for a cappuccino in one pasticceria in the center.
Back in the saddle and reach Cisternino, one of the most lovely and chic hilltop towns in Puglia, you will soak in sweeping views of the Itria Valley below and see firsthand why this town is starting to gain some serious international repute
Now is time to go at frantoio d’Amico where we have the olive oil tasting and lunch. Shuttle back to Resort or cycle. Back to villa by van in time tonight ready for a memorable cooking class followed by dinner!

Day 4 From Locorotondo to Ostuni: Coastal Road & Torre Egnazia

Distance 55 km /40,5 miles

Today skirt ocean, the starting point for a perfect, easy, flat ride which heads north past ancient olive groves and along the Adriatic coast to the archaeological site of Egnazia, once the location of a Greco-Roman town dating as far back as the 4th century BC. From trulli Resort you will reach Savelletri on the coast then torre a canne still on the coast. You will be instantly charmed by the sky blue of the sea, that melts onto the white of the calcareous rock dotted here and there by the fichi d’india prickly pears. Last part is uphill to get in Ostuni village.

Day 5Ostuni to Lecce + WIne tasting

Distance 56 km /35 miles

Bike ride from Ostuni to Cellino San Marco where winery is, the cycling is easy: all flat, all secondary road pasing through San Vito dei Normanni and Mesagne.
Liveli is one of Puglia’s most renowned wineries in Salento area. After a fascinating tour with the vineyard’s expert oenologist, we will be treated to a private lunch and wine tasting in a dining room overlooking the ageing barrels of wine. After lunch transfer to our Masseria just u of Lecce, the pink city, the Florence of the Baroque, the gleaming gem of Apulia.

Day 6Loop to Santa Cesarea & Zinzalusa

Distance: 64 km/40 miles

Cycle skirting coast and ride passing Otranto: the old town center is the first compulsory stop to discover beautiful spots and views striking for the southern aspect of the houses, painted in bright colors and enclosed in the wall fortifications overlooking the south bank of the harbor. We pass Santa Cesarea hot spring and Grotta Zinzalusa it is a fantastic grotta on the seaside where is possible have a great view overlooking the panorama. You will love the tiny roads that sometimes seem like bike paths.
